PUPPY LOVE

Have finally found the perfect poodle I've always wanted. Well at least a 19" ceramic one! Until a lucky customer whisks him away he's all mine for now...and yes he is a he. And I think I've decided to name him Claude. He is such a doll I can't stop looking at him.

THANKSGIVING

This is my incredible Great Aunt Carmela. The shelves you see behind her a just a fraction of the wall of world-wide collections that she and her daughter have accumulated over the last century. Actually just shy of a century. When I see this fabulous room I wonder why it has not been on the cover of Elle Decor! Aunt Carmela is truly a treasure that I am grateful for now at this time of Thanksgiving and always. Happy 98th year Auntie! And happy hunting!

Fun, Fun rings...the stretchy band is one size fits all.

Great look of faux coral or faux turquoise with some sparkle.

Nice big size they measure 1 1/2" diameter. Only $30 each you gotta love 'em!

CAT-O'-NINE-"TALE"

There once was a wise old Chinese antique's dealer and he had a tiny little shop in the city of Shanghai. One day an English dealer walked into this tiny little shop in Shanghai and spotted a valuable Ming Dynasty porcelain bowl on the floor filled with milk no less! There next to it was an old scruffy cat.
"What a beautiful cat you have there" said the Englishman.
"That old beast" said the shopkeeper.
" Say, I would like to buy that cat, I like him" said the Englishman.
And so after some haggling back and forth the two dealers came to an agreement and a cat was sold.
"Oh, by the way, I think it would be a good idea if you would give me his bowl so that the cat will feel comfortable in his new home" the Englishman said.
"So sorry, but no, you see that bowl has sold over 100 cats for me!"

Bought this years ago...the lovely proprietor of a wonderful shop called Modern Age on Broadway in downtown New York was closing his shop. I fell in love with this Arabia Charger the minute I saw it in the case. Mark sold me this piece for $100. It is a huge piece and the date on the back has sentimental value to me. Also, I later found out that Mark closed his store because he was dying from AIDS. He was a gentleman through and through and I will always remember him and his shop with fond memories.

SERENDIPITY

Found this beauty literally in the trash. I call her my Princess of Serendip in homage to Walpole's fairy tale "The Three Princes of Serendip". Although not signed the artist sure knew what he/she was doing. Now for the serendipity....the old gallery sticker on the back is from an obscure small seaside town that my cousins and I spent many a childhood summer! so many decades and miles apart a connection found. A "true" treasure...
